RoboDevelopment Conference & Expo 2007 Energizes Robotics Industry

Attendance at 1st Time Event Exceeds Expectations, Sponsor Announcements Abound

Framingham, Mass. – November 1, 2007 – Robotics Trends and EH Publishing today announced the RoboDevelopment Conference and Exposition, the international technical design and development event for the personal, service and mobile robotics industry, was a resounding success, attracting over 1,000 attendees. The conference was held Oct. 25-26, 2007 at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California. The RoboDevelopment website is www.robodevelopment.com.

According to Dan Kara, conference chairman and President of Robotics Trends, "The success of the inaugural RoboDevelopment Conference and Exposition, in terms of attendance, quality of speakers and industry leading sponsors, speaks volumes about the rapid expansion of a wholly new technology market, mobile robotics and intelligent systems, as well as the need for a forum for technical professionals to learn from industry leaders, exchange information with their peers and evaluate the latest tools and techniques for building commercial robotics products and technologies.”

“The emerging new market for robotics must be fueled by opening up development to a wider audience,” noted Tandy Trower, general manager at Microsoft Corp. “The RoboDevelopment Conference and Exposition provided Microsoft with a great opportunity to demonstrate our platform and tools for building robotics applications and services.

"The RoboDevelopment Conference and Exposition provided National Instruments with an excellent opportunity to educate technical professionals on how graphical system design can be applied to simplify the development of sophisticated robotic systems," notes National Instruments Vice President Ray Almgren. “We look forward to continuing to work with this dynamic industry by providing the robotics community with the products required to meet the demands of commercial robotics design and development.”

Paolo Pirjanian, CEO of Evolution Robotics notes, “It is very exciting to see companies of all sizes joining Robotics Trends’ events such as RoboDevelopment. It is particularly interesting to see that attendance at the inaugural RoboDevelopment Conference and Exposition exceeded those of established robotics events of long standing.”

The RoboDevelopment Conference and Exposition featured many industry announcements including:
>>Willow Garage Announced a New Standardized Personal Robotics Platform;
>>WowWee and Evolution Robotics Announced a Partnership to Bring Breakthrough Consumer Robotics Products to Market;
>>Braintech Released New Vision Software for Service Robots; and
>>Robots Objective Interface Systems Announced Complete Middleware Solutions for Robotics.
